LEAP is a research lab in the Industrial-Organizational Psychology program at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ. LEAP focuses on the application of basic psychological science and advanced statistical methods to understand how emotions, personality, and human relationships intermingle to predict work performance, conflict, and empowerment. Our research seeks to inform practices on aversive leadership, negotiation, and employee motivation.
We adopt a multi-method approach to investigation. This includes drawing upon experimentation, advanced technology, psychometrically sound measurement, experiential sampling, and field work to maximize the generalizability of our findings. Specific techniques include social dilemmas, negotiations, archival research, online data collection, behavioral coding, and multi-level structural equation modeling.
